I love some of the doctors at my surgery, Dr Wright (exceptional), Dr Hamilton, and more recently Dr Lewis. Dr Lewis has persevered with my symptons (my first appointment was back at the end of July when a different doctor diagnosed probable diverticulitis) and in the end after different scans and blood tests Dr Lewis sent me to a gynaecologist who has found a small cyst on one ovary, I am waiting for a Laparscopy at present and hoping the cyst will not be cancerous. If it is hopefully it has been found early enough to be got rid of! So I might owe my life to Dr Lewis. The only criticism I have is often you cannot get an appointment early enough and so end up having to go to Open Surgery where you can wait over an hour sometimes as it is full to capacity! I feel sympathy for the Doctors as it must be very stressful for them and people are quick to complain. They obviously need more money in their budget so they can employ the help they so desperately need.

Although It is easy to get an appointment because of the open surgery arrangement, it is not necessarily with the Doctor of choice. Having said that, if you feel really poorly, it is a bonus to be able to see any doctor on the week day you feel unwell I feel we are lucky at CVMP because the daily open surgery is something many other practices do not provide. I can't remember the last time I went to the practice.

What impresses me most that in an emergency you can see a doctor on the same day. It may not be the doctor of your choice, but they are all good. It is also very convenient that you can have a telephone consultation with a doctor without the need to go into the surgery when it is not always necessary.
